Once you get your Technic collection organized at home, you might want to take some of it with you. The 3700 boxes are great, except that you need another box to put your creations in! Of course, the PLANO 1258 tackle box is just the thing you need for carrying your RCX around. They offer the following features which make them ideal:

Relatively low cost and wide availability
Top compartment has full height dividers
User defined compartment sizes
Bottom compartment holds PLANO 3500 mini-boxes
Storage space for a reasonable sized robot
Transparent blue lid looks cool at airport security check
17x12x8 (430x305x200) size fits under an airplane seat!

Here's a photo of the bottom compartment of the tackle box. Note storage space for up to 7 PLANO 3500 mini tackle boxes on the left. I use about 3 and that leaves room for the motorcycle wheels, the RCX, the IR tower, and an AC adapter. On the right is a compartment for a robot. I've put bubble pad in it to protect my pbForth MazeWalker.

Next, we'll close the bottom section to reveal the top section with movable dividers. There's enough space up here for an entire RCX kit and a Scout if you put the fiddly bits into 2 or 3 PLANO 3500 mini boxes down below. The RCX is in the picture for scale.

Finally, we'll close the top section and show the whole system buttoned up and ready to take on your next trip! Yes, this box fits neatly under the seat in front of you.
